  • January Membership Meeting - City Council Inauguration The Stonewall Democrats of Austin will not be hosting our normally scheduled meeting on Wednesday, January 9th. Instead, we hope you will join us at the City of Austin's Inauguration for the Mayor and City Council on January 7th at 6PM at Austin City Hall (301 W. 2nd St). Stonewall was proud to endorse the re-election of Mayor Steve Adler, the re-election of City Council Member Pio Renteria in District 3, and the election of Council Member-elect Natasha Harper-Madison in District 1 and Council Member-elect Paige Ellis in District 8.   • TCDP Holiday Parties - December 13 There will not be a December membership meeting. Instead we recommend attending one (or both) of the Travis County Democratic Party Holiday parties on December 13th. The South Party, co-hosted by South Austin Democrats and Tejano Democrats, will be at 5906 Old Fredericksburg Rd (ATX 78749) from 5 to 9 pm and the North Party, co-hosted by Lake Travis Democrats, will be at 1938 Lohmans Crossing (ATX 78734) from 6 to 9 pm.

  • SDA Membership Meeting Rescheduled for November 28 Due to scheduling and logistical issues the Stonewall Democrats of Austin will be holding their November membership meeting on Wednesday, November 28th instead of November 14th. The meeting will be held at the Cafe Mueller restaurant located in the HEB (1801 E. 51st St, ATX 78723). The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. An agenda will be sent shortly before the meeting. We will be conducting a block walk for Natasha Harper-Madison, our endorsed candidate in the City Council District 1 run-off, on November 17th from 1 to 5 pm.   • Early Voting for November General Elections - October 22 to November 2 On November 6th the country will vote in perhaps the most important mid-term election in recent memory. It is abundantly clear that the Republican Administration at both the national and state level are more concerned with enacting a partisan, ideological agenda and not what is in the best interests of the country and state, therefore the Stonewall Democrats of Austin encourages everyone to vote a straight Democratic ticket. Early Voting runs from October 22nd to November 2nd. Early, Mobile, and Election Day voting locations can be found in the files section below.   • Candidate Forum & Endorsement Meeting October 9th at 6:30 pm The Stonewall Democrats of Austin will be holding the 2018 City Council, ACC, and AISD Candidate Endorsement Forum on Tuesday, October 9th in the Smith Auditorium of the Congregation Beth Israel (3901 Shoal Creek Blvd). The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. In addition to the candidate elections, except for Mayor, which was done at the September 12th forum with the Liberal Austin Democrats, we will also be considering the City of Austin Propositions at this meeting.In order to be considered for endorsement a candidate must have filled out our questionnaire - see files below (we will have copies of the candidates’ responses to our questionnaire available at the meeting).
