  • City Council Candidate Endorsement Forums This November marks the first time the Austin City Council will be elected by district instead of citywide. The new 10-1 Council will consist of 10 members elected by district and the Mayor elected at-large.The Stonewall Democrats of Austin will be holding two Candidate Forums and Endorsement meetings to allow our members to hear from those candidates who filled out our candidate questionnaire.The forums will be held in the Smith Auditorium of the Congregation Beth Israel (3901 Shoal Creek Blvd) on Wednesday, August 27th and Thursday, September 4th.   • Keep Austin Queered Roundtable on May 31st The way we elect our Austin City Council is changing so the Stonewall Democrats of Austin (SDA) is hosting an LGBTQ Community Roundtable. The Roundtable will bring together subject-matter experts from the City of Austin and from LGBTQ advocate and allied organizations.   • Precinct & County Conventions on March 22 This year, Democratic Precinct Conventions were not held after the polls closed on March 4th. Instead, the Democratic Precinct Conventions will be held during the first part of the Democratic County Convention on Saturday, March 22, at the Palmer Event Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd., in Austin. The County Convention is a great time to meet your Democratic neighbors, hear from our terrific Democratic nominees, sign up to get involved in the Coordinated Campaign to ensure our victory in November, discuss important party business, develop our party's positions on various issues, and elect delegates to go on to the Texas Democratic Convention in Dallas on June 27-28.
