The Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus has posted the schedule of our upcoming 2015 Biennial Equality Forward Summit in Austin, April 11th-13th. Club Sponsorships and individual registration for the Summit is now open. All meetings and training sessions will take place at the Texas
Democratic Party Headquarters unless indicated otherwise. TDP is
located at 4818 E Ben White Blvd #104, Austin, TX 78741. Saturday - April 11
- 11:30 am - TSDC Board meeting (Stonewall Leaders Only).
- 1pm - Stonewall Website & Database: Adding Articles, Events and
other content to the website, second part is focused on the database and
membership management. This training is intended only for Stonewall
Officers, Committee Members, or committee chairs whose overall
responsibility is to communicate club activities to the public or to
maintain membership data including put not limited to treasury duties.
- 5:30pm - Welcome Reception Kickoff at OCH on 4th Street.
Sunday - April 12
- Welcoming session 9am (Crystal Kay Perkins, Executive Director - Texas Democratic Party).
- A Look Back and A Look Forward (Texas Democratic Party, Battleground Texas, & TBA).
- Queer Money - The economic impact of the gay dollar in Texas (Williams Institute).
- The psychology (or voodoo) of getting a voter to vote.
- Messaging - What did you say? Do I really Care?
- Impact of Voter Identification Laws on Transgender Voters (Williams Institute)
- Speaker: Texas House Representative Celia Israel
- Legislative Update on related LGBT bills & Lobby Day Training (Equality Texas).
Monday - April 13
- 11am Lobby Day with Equality Texas - This is an opportunity for you
to meet with your representative in their office at the Texas State
Capitol and to directly ask them to pass policies that will protect all
Texans. Location for this event is at First United Methodist Church of
Austin Family Life Center, 1300 Lavaca St. and at the State Capitol.
